Welcome
Welcome
Welcome

Damaris was born and raised in Miami, Florida...where the sun shines bright and hot 365 days a year (but also rains half the year...thank God!). The highlights: best drinking water, warm, sandy beaches, great Cuban Cuisine, Latin music...And the best drivers??? (Really?!?!...seriously??). She grew up in a large, Cuban home with her amazing sister, Dayanara, three Musketeers, David, Daniel, and Dario, hard-working, loving parents, Juan and Nercy and three generations of Chihuahuas! She achived her dream of graduation from FIU (GO PANTHERS!) and becoming a chemist at a "secret" governement agency lab in downtown Miami. For the past six years, she has been invloved in teaching Bible studies for teenagers and serving and helping the community through outreach programs.

Johnny was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana (The Big Easy). Home of the 2009 Superbowl Champs New Orleans Saints (WHO DAT!), Mardi Gras, Jazz, and the best Cajun Creole Cuisine ever (Beignets please!!!). In short, he grew-up with his siblings, Allen and Kelly, and the most beautiful woman in the world, his mother, Doralice Barrera. Together, they spent many years loving, fighting, caring, learning, laughing and growing in the ways of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. After graduating from NOBTS, (Miracle on Bourbon Street), went to serve on the mission field in Lakeland, FL with the migrant worker population. God then sent him to another "Country" called MIAMI, because a Big Evil woman named Katrina (aka-hurricane KAT) didn't let him back!!! He started working for Miami Dade County and learned the primary culture and language of the land..."Spanish."

It was dark and stormy night, in a foreign land with unfamiliar faces. He found himself inside a fellowship hall of a church listening to the message with young adults. At the end of the service, they asked if new comers can come to the front to be greeted and as shy as he was, he came up with the courage to go forward and introduce himself as "The Foreigner." And there he heard, "Hi, how are you? I'm Damaris" and he said, "I'm sorry" and she said, "Da-maris" and he said, "I'm John-ny". She said, "Um, I'm the secretary and I send information about our events to everyone so can I have your email?" and he said, "Sure". After, giving her the email she was gone into shadows never to be seen again, leaving him wondering, "Who's That Girl?" Then, out of heaven came an email that spoke about that young adult church event and GOD and something about "we are Super-Conquerors." He was baffled and bewildered, but then he sent an email to her personally questioning these remarks and challenging her statements. She replied with 5 pages of doctrine, theology, psychology, philosophy and other words he cannot spell..."cupid missed his mark", but GOD brought them together. They became the best of friends and spent the next four years volunteering together at the church in youth groups/retreats/summer camps, music groups, and serving in the community/homeless outreach programs. He was enchanted by her Character, Purity, and Persona and she was enchanted by his Integrity, Servanthood, and Love for the Lord.

To our Family and Friends:

We would like to take this opportunity and let you all know how much you greatly mean to the both of us. You have been with us through the good, the bad, and the ugly...without you, this would not be possible. Thank you for all the sacrifices you have made for us and for our future, as husband and wife. Your love, encouragement, support, generosity and prayers mean more than words can describe. We are about to start our new life together and it is a privilege and honor to share this moment with all of you!

To our Lord Jesus Christ:

You are our Saviour, Redeemer, King, and Father...we give You all the glory, all the praise, all the gratitude, all the honor and all our lives. This is all Yours...our marriage begins and ends with You. May our marriage always represent Your Character, Integrity, Holiness, and Righteousness!

"Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends." ~John 15:13

"Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He's the one who will keep you on track."  ~Proverbs 3:5-6

"This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, His one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn't go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person's failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to Him...He came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of." ~John 3:16-18
